Happy Birthday Albert~
by Edwin T on May.11, 2009, under friends, happenings
Yesterday (10 May) was Albert’s big day. He turned 23, finally. Haha.. Before that, not forgetting to say happy birthday to Miss Chee, who shares the same birth date with Albert.
But she is more fortunate, she a “special one” to celebrate together. Not like him who celebrates with a bunch of singles. Haha ^_^
The birthday celebration was simple yet a memorable one. Since this will be the last birthday celebration for him before graduating next year.
Friends, Albert has a request. He asked all of us to come back for his birthday celebration next year wor~ What you all think? Haha..
Anyhow, may your birthday brings you joy and luck in final year ya, Albert! Let’s grab our MD (UKM) together in Mac 2010!
From left: Teik June, Yu Jun, Julian, Albert (the birthday boy), Wei Wen, Susan, Shi Hui and me!
P/S: And thanks for the beer!
A Day in Special Secondary School of the Visually Impaired Setapak
by Edwin T on Jun.12, 2008, under friends, happenings
This is one of the programs which was included under our new curricular system.
As early at 7.55 am, we departed from UKMMC by uni bus. It’s a big number of us, 56 people in total.
Along the journey, I was wondering how will be school settings be as this is my first visit to a special school. To be specific, a school for blind students.
In my mind, I faced a conflict.
“How should I communicate with these visually challenged boys and girls?”
“They are much younger than me but they need to live with this disability throughout their lifetime..”
“Will it be a very difficult communication?” Since they maybe psychologically fragile and sensitive. I was afraid that I might unintentionally touch the sensitive sides of their feelings.
However, when I saw them and talked to some of them. They have touched me, deep into my heart. They are much stronger than we normal people do!
What I saw was really heart warming. The spirit of helping each other regardless the skin colour and religion is a scenario that I’ve longed to see.
It was portrayed to me today, live! The students move around, read, and encourage amongst them. I felt so ashamed when many of us, who are normal and healthy, are unable to do so.
To make it worst, many still confined to their own circle but actually we are a nation, Malaysians!
Thank God, I’m glad that He provides me the best. I have lots and lots of friends not confining only to my own descendant and a few of them are even my best friends in my life, so far.
What I’ve learnt? Respect and appreciation are the essence to a successful relationship!
Below are some photos to share (Taken in Sekolah Menengah Khas Cacat Penglihatan Setapak):
One of the sign boards in the school. The small white dots on the upper left corner is Braille transcription.
Braille typewriter. It costs RM 3,000 each!
Trying to use the typewriter but I have no clue at all! It needs at least 1 year to be able to read Braille slowly.
The special students are very independent. They are trained to carry out their daily chores on their own.
This is a CCTV for partially blind students in helping them to magnify the text they want to read. This gadget alone costs RM 13,000. Gosh!
Coincidentally, the school is celebrating Teacher’s Day on our visit. This boy can play the drum set very well and they even have a band formed. Music is with NO boundary!
Roy & I. I curi-curi took this. Haha!
This is more proper! ^^ But Roy, your hair….. (Heheh!)
Yu Jun & I. He like to smile a lot. Trademark: Gigi mesti nampak semua whenever he smiles.. XD
Faiz Kamal & I. He’s currently my group mate in ophthalmology. “Don’t bully him ya!”, “OK, I’ll try..” Wuakakah!
Hajar & I. This gal is chumellicious ideology practitioner.. Drama Queen of my batch! ^^
After the visit, I’ve to meet up my research group supervisor in KCKL. While passing by the AMSA notice board, I found out this. I swear Fazrul! It wasn’t me… Chee can be my saksi…
Aiyoyo.. Who has got pissed off with you? Kesian… Kena thumbtack kat muka.. Wuakakah! Btw, he is most famous + outspoken + ….. Drama King of my batch! ^^
Friends! I love all of you!
Ah Beng & Anwar
by Edwin T on Jan.25, 2008, under friends
Rite! Before that I have a disclaimer: For Ah Beng & Anwar who are going to see this post by chance on someday, at sometime, and in someplace wherever you are, don’t kill me when we meet up ya? Heheh!
Today discussion is regarding my 2 best friends in my life –> The SIMILARITIES in these 2 fellows:
- Both are comprised of 44+XY chromosome (100% guaranteed).
- Both are my closest and best friend for ever.
- Both were once studied in SMK Sultan Badlishah. “The Best in Kulim & Lunas, and some say Padang Serai”
- Both are still single and desperately looking for 44+XX. Girls who are single & available out there, can consider them la. Not bad 1.
- Both used to be my drivers. Sorry la.. My driving is so teruk mah..
But all these are just intro, the BIGGEST similarity in these 2 guys is both are NARCISSISTIC!
Why do I say so?
